MTD for Corporation Tax — Quarterly Updates
@AdamsWinter files your annual CT600 and Companies House accounts. This guide explains what MTD for Corporation Tax means, how it differs from your annual CT600, and what @AdamsWinter supports.
What Is MTD for Corporation Tax?
Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Corporation Tax is HMRC's programme requiring businesses to keep digital records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC throughout the year. Under MTD for CT, companies send short updates each quarter, followed by a final declaration at the end of the year.
This is a new, separate obligation — in addition to, not instead of, your existing annual CT600 return.

Common Questions
Does MTD affect my CT600 filing deadline?
No. Your annual CT600 is still due 12 months after your accounting period ends, and corporation tax is due 9 months and 1 day after the period end. MTD quarterly updates have their own submission windows and are separate from the annual return.
I just need to file my annual CT600 — do I need MTD quarterly software now?
For your annual CT600 and Companies House accounts, @AdamsWinter handles that as normal. MTD for CT quarterly updates are a separate obligation with their own timeline and software requirements.
Does @AdamsWinter support MTD for VAT?
@AdamsWinter supports MTD for VAT separately. See our guide on VAT, PAYE, and CS01 for what @AdamsWinter does and does not cover.
