Getting Started with the Dashboard
Learn how to navigate your @AdamsWinter dashboard. Understand status icons, start filings, return to drafts, and use the company details drawer.
Your @AdamsWinter dashboard is your home base for managing all your company filings. This guide shows you how to navigate it effectively.
The Dashboard Grid
When you log in, you'll see a grid showing all your companies and their filing periods:

Understanding Status Icons
Each filing shows a status icon:
| Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ✓ (grey tick) | Filed and accepted |
| ○ (empty circle) | Not yet filed |
| ⏳ (clock) | Submitted, awaiting response |
| 📄 (document) | Draft in progress |
| ✗ (red cross) | Error or rejected |
Starting a New Filing
To file your CT600 or accounts:
- Find the company row in the grid
- Click the green button:
- A dropdown appears with options:
Returning to a Draft
If you've already started a filing but didn't finish:
- The button will show:
- Click it and select your filing type
- You'll return to where you left off with all your data preserved
The Company Details Drawer
Click the arrow (→) at the end of any row to open the details drawer. You can also click anywhere on the row itself.
The drawer slides in from the right and shows:
Company Information
- Company name and number
- Registration details
- All periods for this company
- Status of each filing
- Submitted documents (iXBRL, XML)
- Error messages (if any)
- Continue or retry filings
- View submitted documents
- Archive the company
Filtering and Searching
Use the controls at the top of the dashboard:
Search Box Type a company name or number to filter the grid instantly.
Status Filter
- All - Show everything
- Overdue - Filings past their deadline
- Due Soon - Approaching deadlines
- Drafts - Started but not submitted
- Filed - Completed filings
Filing Order Requirements
HMRC requires you to file periods in chronological order. If you have multiple overdue periods:
The dashboard will guide you to file the oldest period first, or you can mark it as "Filed Elsewhere" if you've already submitted it through another service.
Adding a New Company
Click the button in the top right:
You can add companies by:
- Company number - We'll fetch details from Companies House
- Manual entry - For organisations not on Companies House (clubs, associations)
Archiving Companies
If you no longer need to file for a company:
- Click the arrow (→) to open the details drawer
- Scroll to the bottom
- Click Archive Company, then confirm
Quick Tips
- Bookmark the dashboard - Log in goes straight to your filing list
- Check status icons - A quick glance shows what needs attention
- Use the drawer - Click any row for full details and history
- File in order - Complete older periods before newer ones
